Passions
I am passionate about these things and I personally recommend them.
Holosync
The first time I heard of Holosync, I sent the link to a friend of mine and made fun of their claim about meditating like a Zen monk at the push of a button. “Made fun” isn’t quite accurate, actually. Rant was more like it. What is wrong with society? Why when I was a girl, we meditated barefoot. In the snow. Uphill both ways. Well, I didn’t really ever meditate that intensely — but I always intended to. Let’s just say I never had the time or patience to stick with it. However, I was intrigued by the claim and decided to give Holosync a test drive. I was hooked immediately. I felt transported. After a 30 minute session, I was more refreshed than I could remember being in a long time. Now that I’ve been doing it for several months, I can tell you, it just gets better. I have been less stressed and more creative — positively buzzing with ideas — than I have been in years. Ever, even. Give it a shot. Wow.
Amazon Kindle
For the first time this week, thanks to Shelley, I not only touched an Amazon Kindle, I took it back to my hotel and spent quality time with it. I secretly hoped I wouldn’t like it. I loved it. It’s fast, easy to use, and delightful to read (and mark up). And it weighs waaaaay less than the 50 pounds (or so it felt) of books I carried on to the airplane, too. My favorite part — and this may sound strange — but I didn’t feel “separated” from the page I was reading — I didn’t perceive it was behind a screen or under glass or anything. Very nice.

Optibike
I don’t have one of these, but I’ve researched them and, boy, do I want one. Bad. The Optibike is the only electric bike that really makes the grade and could be a viable commuter bike for a longer distance. It’s not a scooter or a motorcycle — it’s an actual bike you can pedal with your own power or use electric power or a combination of both. I can save gas $, save the environment (98% of carbon footprint is commute, if I recall correctly), and improve my health — trifecta! Their marketing director Craig — helpful nice guy! — is trying to convince me to go with a pink bike, with handlebar tassles and a little white wicker basket, even! We’ll see, Craig.
